MATCH POINT

I got a call from Pratte yesterday saying he was going to the tennis courts. I hadn't been there in awhile and it was nice to skate there again. Randy, Ben, Herbert, Travis, and the Kehoes were there too, plus Mitts! Randy and Herbert were putting in some serious work as the sun set, and I wish i could tell you what they were trying, BUT you'll just have to wait and see. Meanwhile Mitts was keeping things stylish as ever, as he's known to do. Good to see you Mitts! -Worful

A NICE STROLL IN THE PARK

When I showed up at the blind school the other day Randy was knee deep into several attempts of a very sick and complicated line. He just can't do something simple, can he? Gabe was there to document it with his huuuuuge camera that he borrowed from school. Anyway, so after that we went to the up/down ledge in Tower Grove Park, but not the one that Bobby and I usually skate, the OTHER one. It's taller, but otherwise the same. So yeah, some definite rippage went down there and that was fun to watch. Randy unfortunately messed up his hand trying something, but the session was pretty much over once this woman walked by with her dogs and Jared yelled "Are those Puggles?!" and excitedly ran over to pet them. Everyone else pretty much followed suit. Then Alex wanted to go to the double set to try something. Finally, Jared gave everyone a lesson in tre flips as the sun set. -Worful

A "REFLECTIVE" SESSION

Jake took us back to this spot he went to recently and here's what went down. Also Gabe showed me what has to be the biggest sticker I've ever seen. Anyway, by the time some other rippers showed up I had to leave early unfortunately, but We Are the City had it covered. Thanks guys! -Worful

SAY IT AIN'T SO!

Is one of this blog's favorite skaters REALLY retiring??? We sure hope not. Rumor is he's already working on a comeback part.

YOU CAN BANK ON IT!

This past weekend Worf, Guy, Bob and I skated this bank in the city. I'd never been there, but then again I've never been to a lot of spots. Why? Because I'm a loser. What? Too self-depricating? You know you were thinking it too!
But I digress, it was fun! And the ripping served as a great venue and prime opportunity to shoot some video with my new SLR. Worf and Guy killed it while Bob kindly filmed the frivolity. Me? Well I decided to take this fortuitous session as a means to put in some work on my fake steez and model-esque pose downs. But alas, Worf shut it down and rightly so! But enough with the chin music, here's the vid:

Great rippitude bros,

PS after this epic sesh we got Pointers Pizza which was so awesome...one of these days I'm going to tackle that Pointersaurus and punch it right in the hemorrhoids. Hell Yeah!

RAMONDEMO!!!

So I went to the Circa demo yesterday at the JB park, and boy what a good time! As soon as I got there I discovered there was already a demo of sorts going on, and the Circa team wasn't even there yet. Kids were throwing their carcasses down the eight stair as if it was the last trick they'd ever do. There were some sick makes including Nub's ollyless frontside 180, and some cringe-inducing slams as well. The worst of which was poor Steve Roberts who had to bail when someone was walking up the stairs as he was trying a trick down them. I'm not sure if you can tell by the picture but the gash on his chin was deep enough that he had to get eight stitches. He also walked away with a slight concussion and a sprained wrist. So before the actual demo even started Steve got the MVP in my book. And Zurheide gets special honors too for taking him to the hospital and missing the rest of the demo. Meanwhile, as the carnage continued at the stairs, the Circa team showed up and everyone else grabbed their seats around the edge of the park. I sat by the cool kids, Bobby and Jack of course. Everyone who skated ripped, but Ramondetta DESTROYED it. His ollie over the hubba and his frontside flip off the pyramid to flat were definite highlights. And he and the other guys were more than happy a bunch of sign stuff for kids afterward. Ramondetta's general good vibes seemed to seep through his shirt at one point in the shape of a heart. What a rad dude! Anyway, good times for sure. Pratte was definitely impressed, and Drew's mind was zapped as well. Thanks to everyone who came out to watch or vigilantly hucked themselves down the stairs, that was entertaining to say the least. Special thanks to Jason at Infinity for bringing Circa to town! We really appreciate it.
