SKATEWAY TO THE WEST

Not only is the trailer for Skateway to the West totally sick, but the title scores a 10 out of 10 on our patented Pun-O-Meter ("Pun-O-Meter" © Pretty Skateboards 2009). We can't wait to see the video, keep up the good work boys!

LOOK HER IN THE EYES

We're starting to wonder if staring at our trucks all day is making the poor girl on our boards go cross-eyed. Boardslide to fakie off the end of the barrier by Bobby, sequence by Grizz.

PLEASE LET IT STAY WARM

This is Joel and I caught through the lens of David. We don't look happy, do we? That's because these pictures were taken a few weeks ago at the Webster Groves skatepark when it was very cold outside. Mother Nature, please do your boys a favor and keep it warm from now on. We'll be good, we promise. -Worful

BEAUTY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLGA

David has brought us a treat in the form of some great photos he took at the tennis courts with his trusty Holga camera. He's got renaissance men Ben and Gabe building, Ben popping out of a 50-50, Drew locking into a 50-50, and finally Worful not popping or locking, just being creepy. Enjoy!

THRASHIN' IT UP

Our very own Randy Ploesser has a sick sequence in the new issue of Thrasher shot by Mike Stanfield. Whoop whoop! Way to go Dolphin!

BACKGROUND PROPER

A couple of years ago Jack and I spent four glorious months living in foggy Londontown. Toward the end of our stay we were greeted with a spontaneous group of guests, the likes of which being Michael "Filmbot" Stanfield, Mark "Mark-Ass" Stewart, Derek "Fuck-A-Haircut" Fukahara, Jason "Q. What are you thinking about RIGHT NOW? A. Tre Flips" Wakuzawa, and the one and only Marty "I will fakie 5-0 your baby and make you name him 'Marty' then fakie flip out" Murawski. In recent blogging, Randy digitally pasted a short video of Mr. Marty Murawski and Co. which included footage shot during Jack and I's sojourn in beautiful Brittiania. After viewing the video, I realized that we did not get our dues and so we had to painstakingly plan a way to point out our illustrious yet elusive presence. And so, that's the background info which brings us to our posting today.

So without further ado, OUR PROPS. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Jack and David

CELEBRATING NOTHING IN PARTICULAR

Yesterday was a good day. First off, it was the birthday of a certain GUY we're friends with. This particular GUY didn't want anyone to know about it though. But we hope this GUY had a very happy birthday all the same. Meanwhile, a bunch of us went to check out an awesome spot that Drew and his friends have been working on. They're really doing a nice job and we had a super good time there. Bobby made use of the bench and ledge with a frontside lipslide, a nosegrind, and a backside lipslide. He celebrated, as usual, with an Arizona Ice Tea. Hood got into the barrier with a frontside 5-0 and a front feeble stall, and then he celebrated with an improvisational hop over the donut. Finally, with minutes to spare before he had to go to work, David did a "hella tight" feeble grind across the barrier. He said he was going to celebrate with a beer later. We celebrated by cheering. Jake celebrated, as usual, by looking like a badass. Photos by Worful.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLOG!!!

It was one year ago today that we started this blog! So happy birthday to the chubby baby that it has become. We'd like to thank everyone who's helped us out and all of you who continue to come here. We really appreciate it! -Worful

MONKEY MURAWSKI II: THE CHIMPIRE STRIKES BACK

You may remember the first post I made about Marty a few months back. Well, once again I am here in the valley of sun (Phoenix) avoiding the cold, hard reality of St. Louis winters and cold, hard reality in general. Once again I'm staying at Marty Murawski and Matt Price's apartment in Tempe and once again Marty and I are fusing our bent senses of humor together to create works of staggering, entirely debateable genius. Well this might be the first time actually. I showed Marty a video I previously posted and it just happened to be perfect timing because he had to edit a web ad thingy for Matix. this video was the result of the whirlwind creative process that followed. I hope you enjoy it us much as we enjoyed making it.

THIS OLD LEDGE

This kid is no Bob Vila (or Bob Marksteiner for that matter), but this lil video provides some laughs as well as some good info.

SATURDAYS ARE FOR SKATING

Today was super nice outside, so skating was definitely on the agenda. It was good to see Guy back on the scene this weekend, taking pictures of Gabe on a mission. Meanwhile, the incredible Brian Werner was there. He was soaking it all in, but then decided to rip with a switch polejam fakie. He also showed us his tattoo. Awesome!

15 MINUTES AND COUNTING

Preston "Presticles" Harper posted this sweet montage that he filmed on his trusty digicam over the weekend in Vegas. It is apparent that he continues to shred and build his name fame even after receiving the inevitable pink slip from Roger a couple months back. The montage features Preston himself, Ted Schmitz, Kevin Wilrick, and even yours truly doing some rather conceptual innovating towards the end. Speaking of new skate concepts, I don't think Pier 7 has seen this kind of beating since the early to mid 1990s. Via: Skate AZ.
