HEATING UP

I met up with Bobby, Alex, and Sam at the Webster park the other day and got to see the new flat bar I'd heard about. It's fun, but in a random spot kind of. But hey the Webster park isn't trying to prove anything to anybody, ALRIGHT? Anyway, after that we went to Imo's for a quick snack before meeting up with Guy at the Hanley Industrial Court for a quick session. On the way home we stopped to check out a gap and ended up instead watching Bobby drop into a 5050. It was sick! And he certainly worked for it. -Worful

HANDSOME BOY MODELING SCHOOL

I got a nice surprise in the form of a text from Argus wanting to go skate the other day. And to sweeten the deal he called Joel up too. So I had two handsome rippers on my hands but nowhere to skate after we got kicked out of the banks across from the Galleria. Joel suggested we stop by this other bank under a bridge, so we did and they put on a good show for the various runners and bikers on the path there. Thanks guys! -Worful

SITTING AND EVENTUALLY SLEEPING ON SOUTH AMERICA

This concise and fantastic edit of the 5boro team from their trip in South America over the winter really reminds me of what a lazy pile of lazy pile I can be. I was in Peru nearly a year before this particular trip and I can't bring myself to even import my footage much less edit it. I mean, it is two hours of primarily sightseeing footage on my crappy "flip" camera but it does include my only documented crooked grind nollie flip pop-over and a SICK clip of Worful, two things that just do not happen often. I could even spend the time i'm frittering away writing this now to start... but... I. just. can. not. seem. to. deal. with. the... tedium.

Welp, nothin' Saint Louis related here other than this old hoosier, but hell, these yanks floated on down the Big River with me a couple back, and if they ain't good for somethin' on this here thing then goddamn. Welcome back anytime. Any ol' time. Goddamn.

READY, SET, SKATE

Sunday was even warmer than Saturday, I think it got up to 90 or something crazy. But it wasn't humid which was nice. It was very un-July. Anyway so I met up with Joe, Schwartz, Chris, and Reggie at this nice up ledge. Then we headed to those chubby flatbars. Things were going fine, and then Joe sort of went off on a weird tangent with his tricks. After Ray did a handstand Gabe focused his Quicktrip cup and deemed the session over. But before we left we witnessed and honest to God remote control car race. Fantastic! Since we were so close to it and since Joe apparently had only been there once years ago, we headed to the Hanley wall next. Joe got in some good stuff, as did the rest of the crew, just in case we didn't make it there again any time soon. -Worful

SKATE ACADEMY

Saturday it was reeeeeally nice out, so I picked Bobby up and we met a bunch of dudes at the blind school ledges including Pratte and some friends of his who were in town from Minnesota. They were super nice and ripping too and he'd been taking them around to various spots around town all weekend. On the way there though Bob and I spied a guy on a bike that looked a lot like Drew, and in fact it WAS Drew on his bike. He was just coming out to hang out rather than skate and was on his way to the blind school as well. After a bit everyone was hungry, so we went to Imo's so Jake's out of town guests could see what they thought of some local cuisine (so to speak). Then Bob, Guy, and I headed over to the career academy ledges ahead of the rest of the crew. Bob was putting in some work and once everyone else got there a full on session was underway. I didn't skate much myself, but almost took a slam by almost crashing my car while driving on 44 and trying to take a picture of the sunset through my windshield. Not recommended. -Worful

TOTALLY NOT APRIL FOOLS

Did Bobby's new favorite skater Ryan Reyes really WALLRIDE a rail? Yes, it's true, and you can check it out in The Skateboard Mag for proof. It was shot nicely by Price and apparently the trick itself was suggested by Drew. Teamwork!

SWITCH CHEESE

Um, it snowed. Again. Again? YOU KNOW WHAT... forget it. Anyway, so I met up with Guy, Drew, and Chris the other day at the blind school when it was warm and not snowing. And while I couldn't make it there until the session was basically winding down, I did get there for a switch stance tutorial of sorts. Guy was asking Chris to show him how to do switch crooks, and things escalated from there. Anyway, see you on Art Hill I guess. -Worful
