THERADONE'S GNAR JAR JUNT
Well the winter season is about to drop another big white load on all of us in the metropolitan area. You better stock up on groceries and make plans for a sensual evening illuminated by screen light (power pending). Here are a few gems that might be able to hold you over. We've got a fresh promo from Tyler Lamb titled "Gnar Jar" which looks to showcase some of the St. Louis county spots and skaters, which is followed by Wissman's coverage from the Jake's Junt premiere, and then, grab some popcorn and get comfortable for THE RAD ONE VIDEO. With a run time just short of 9 minutes, this one is almost a feature length skate film.
Hope everyone is staying warm out there. Drive safe!

CAN'T HARDLY SKATE
Untitled from Matthew Price on Vimeo.
Why not round out the week with one final video-related post? I give you the mind blowing trailer for the new Brimley Skateboards video Can't Hardly Skate. Wow.WE ARE THE CITY: VOLUME TWO TEASER
In yet MORE local video news our friends at We Are the City are back again with an awesome teaser for their newest montage that's going to be on their blog next week. Nice! I'm digging the song and the feel of this for sure. -Worful

FOOTAJE
I got my hands on yet ANOTHER local gem the night of Jake's video premiere. It's called Footaje and it's from the chubby mind of Alex Kehoe. And man is it good stuff. Chris Jackson has first part and it's sick and Kendal has last part which is ALSO sick! Plus all the skating in between is, you guessed it, SICK as well. So go bug Alex for one already. -Worful

BOY OH BOYISH
I saw Jackson Casey's new video Boyish the other day, and let me tell you this: Ryan Sublette is amazing. The whole video is in fact. See it as soon as you can please. Thank you. -Worful
STONED IS THE WAY OF THE WALK
I got this dispatch from Joel last night.
"Greetings from LA! Friday I went on an epic journey to find the coveted Stoner Park. As anticipated, it was totally awesome and very worth the short drive from Santa Monica. I shredded its plaza-style ledges and banks to the best of my ability for roughly 10 minutes, and then this happened."
Oy vey, sorry Joel. That sucks, but at least it's sunny there I guess. Hurry back! -Worful
P.S. Cypress Hill reference anyone?
FULLY JUNTED
I met up with Bobby and Guy the other night to go to the HIGHLY ANTICIPATED premiere of Jake Pratte's new video Jake's Junt. There was a great turn out at the Plan Nine park, and this blog's official stance is that the video is "totally awesome" and that the whole night was "super fun." However the Steak 'n Shake afterwards "didn't sit well." Never the less, thanks Jake! You did a great job! Now get started on the next one please. -Worful

BREAKING SHOE-RELATED NEWS!!!
I got new shoes! That's it. That's all I had to say. Also worth noting is that I got a pair of Beloe shoes, the Austin Stephens pro model to be exact. Now I know what you're thinking, "Say whaaaaat?" Basically I was looking for shoes online* and Bobby sent me a link to some nice shoes he'd seen, and they turned out to be none other than the now discontinued pro model of one of Bob and I's favorite skaters. So yeah, I am very excited to be a part of the now irrelevant shoe company that will most likely do nothing special for my skate career. And if you're wondering if I did this just for the money, well, the answer is yes. They were super cheap. -Worful
*Special NO THANKS to Gabe who apparently shares my tiny baby size feet and is on a campaign to systematically buy every pair of shoes at Infinity that I want in order to destroy my fizzling skate career. WHATEVER.

EVERYDAY JOE'S HUSTLIN'
So my camera doesn't take pictures fast enough as other cameras, therefore I rarely ever take sequences because the tricks just don't end up making sense. Especially flip tricks. However this lipslide to stair clickety-clack by Joe Jackson seemed like it might work. Anyway, enjoy? -Worful

MANIFEST DESTINY PART 2
My stomach still hurts from all the laughs had during this trip, or perhaps the pain is from the strict diet consisting almost exclusively of pop-tarts, but either way, we all came out of Phoenix with a smile, an undying appreciation for Die Antwoord, GG Allin, MC Chris, and our daily requirement of 7 vitamins and minerals. Derek and Michael got "Berry Wild" at every single spot we went to. The parks and the people were equally as pleasant, and I can't wait to go back for "S'more"!
Thanks to everyone who made this trip possible, especially Natalie, for being more benevolent and amiable than anyone could have ever expected while having 5 sweaty skaters sleep in their house for a week.

RIP IN PEACE
I had no idea that the tennis courts were being bulldozed. That's such a huge bummer. Here's a Google satellite image of the spot that Bobby sent my way. Even from space you can tell this was a fun place to skate. Anyway, thanks so much to Ben Goeke for all the time and hard work he put into that place, and everyone who helped him out along the way. Lots of fun times were had there, you will be missed tennis courts! -Worful
HIPSTER
I'm sorry Ms. Jackson, but your son is simply ripping TOO hard. Chris just sent us this picture he took after slamming on his hip the other day. I don't know what he was trying, but I'm going to assume it was something pretty sick and that he was going really fast when he tried it. Get better soon Chris! -Worful

ELWOOD'S ST. LOUIS BLUES
This may be the video from Elwood's "Northern Blues Tour" filmed and edited by Pretty pal, Mark Stewart, but we can be pretty certain no one was blue about them bringing their class act to our humble neck of the woods. It does make us blue that Saint Louis DIY mainstay, "The Tennis Courts" (colloquially known as, "The Courts", or, "Crack Corner" respectively) is going the way of the dinosaur. To those not educated in prehistory that means that The Tennis Courts are being bulldozed and are no longer skateable.
I'm not sure what will come of the space, and no offense to the neighborhood, but I can't imagine what useful or profitable enterprise could be instituted there other than a drive-thru crack cocaine window... maaaaaaybe a Rally's. Whatever it is let us hope that it also withers and dies so that it may again be over-run with homemade concrete play-obstacles.
I know that this is truly sad for all the people like myself who have skated and worked on the courts throughout the years. Let Mr. Kenny Anderson's line in the above video be the proverbial cherry on top of a long and joyous era of skateboarding in St. Louis.

MANIFEST DESTINY PART ONE
After driving 23 hours through desolate plains and a tornado, we finally arrived at my friend Natalie's house in Phoenix, Arizona. She has been kind enough to let 5 rowdy boys crash on her floor for a week, and also kind enough to hustle all of our laundry money in a dice game she introduced us to (see picture proof below). I'm not sure if you can wholeheartedly declare her the winner, (seeing as-... smelling as the raging stench permeating from the piles of dirty clothes isn't much of a prize) but she has won this battle. We skated our way to Cowtown in Phoenix which is where we found a lovely little kinked ledge. Michael Nolan and Derek Leroy did boardslide and boardslide fakie respectively. We ran into my other friend Big Burt at Deck Park. He was so busy stacking clips of his skilled friends that he didn't even notice some of the local civilians taking interest. After that, Natalie insisted on skating in the rain, with an umbrella, but once the rain cleared she got serious and embarked upon her usual trail of casual transition destruction. I really can't thank Natalie enough for making this trip possible!
