RANDY'S REVENGE

So I guess Randy took this pretty personally, because he went to that very spot yesterday and totally destroyed it to teach Bob a lesson. Front board, feeble, back smith, and a back tail. Dang. Since there was pretty much nothing left to do on the rail after that, he then sat back and watched Joe and Hood destroy the rest of the spot. Front board pop out over the gap and crooked grind pop out over the gap. Double dang. Meanwhile, I somehow didn't get any photos of tricks from Bob for once. Unless you call making his beard disappear a trick. -Worful

A VERY FAIRY CHRISTMAS

After a recent session, Bobby got unusually excited while describing what he called the "Fairy Santa" in a nearby front yard. So he took me to it, and as you can see that's pretty much a perfect description of what it was. -Worful

FRONTSIDE, BACKSIDE, WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BRO?

We forgot to mention that Drew made up a trick recently. Its called the "lotus slide" and its not about going frontside or backside, its just about the slide man.

RANDY "MARBLES" PLOESSER

Randy has a new nickname apparently, according to the great article he wrote for the new issue of Skateboarder. It chronicles the recent Ezekial trip he went on, and it also has this photo of him that is completely bonkers.

HOLIDAY DANCE OFF

Bobby and Oliver's classy Charleston was great and all, but I think we can agree it was a little too old fashioned. I say that the choreography of the disco that Guy, Lucy, myself, a gorilla, and a photo of myself posing with a drag queen danced last night at Upstairs Lounge totally blew it out of the water. I mean Guy has a broken leg and was prancing around like Michael Flatley out there! Must of been all the cocaine. Its not a disco without some of that sweet booger sugar. Way to boogie guys!

DEAR LORD

Bobby and his dog Ollie were wondering if this was just a little too much Christmas spirit. They can never tell. Happy holidays!

TWO VCRS AND A TWELVE PACK

It is well known among us serious artists that there are some past creations you wish you could bury in a deep grave and some timeless gems that only get better as the years pass. When David Uthus and I got drunk and sat down and edited the first HOB video in a single night, we had no idea we were creating what would be an installment in THE BEST LINEAR-EDITED SKATEBOARD VIDEO SERIES EVER MADE. We made six videos total (never finished the sixth one actually) along with a few offshoots and bonus material on a limited run DVD version of the first three videos. What used to be a rare find is now available on Youtube thanks to a random HOB fan going through the painstaking process of posting all of the first three on Youtube. Its kind of a confusing pain in the ass to watch the videos in fragmented low-quality form, so it pretty much stays true to the HOB aesthetic. Super! Our friend and former HOB associate Christopher Roeleveld also recently posted some of the extras and bonus material including an embarrasing and hilarious early "sponser me" tape of me that probably would've got me pretty far back then, had we actually sent it anywhere.

There's also a section of footage from David's old dad cam where it looks like I actually know what i'm doing on a skatepark rail. What I would give to be young again. It also features the most amazing kickflip ever done over a skatepark pyramid by the one and only Joe Jackson.

You can start your journey through the first HOB trilogy with this old game of skate between Joe and I. Most of the rest of the series is in small chunks in the scrollbox next to the video. Enjoy. Hey David, let's get to work on that last video and DVD yeah?

PUT YOUR SKATING CAPS ON

It was cold outside yesterday, and even colder today. But that didn't stop Bobby and Drew from going out skating. We're not exactly sure WHY it didn't stop them, but whatever. Here's Drew with a front board and lipslide to pop out, as well as a tall ollie. Then Bobby ended things with a boardslide around a rather curvaceous ledge. Photos by Worful's very cold fingers.

WELCOME TO PERRYVILLE

Congratulations to Jack for landing a job at Tum Yeto as their Midwest sales rep! If there's anything Jack knows, its how to rep the Midwest to the fullest.

IT'S COLD

Here's Drew doing a proper backside flip awhile ago when he was living in a much warmer area of the country. Oh to be warm again. Sequence by Bart Jones.

Hey remember when Drew did this? I almost crapped my pants as I was taking this photo. -Worful

AND THEN GOD MADE UTHUS

Happy birthday to David! I wonder what Randy's going to get him. Probably another gift certificate for a "free hug." He gives those to everybody.

BACK FOR MORE

Bob wasn't quite satisfied with his boardslide on this rail for some reason. So he decided to crooked grind it as well, sans winter gloves this time. Photo by Worful.

ROAD WORK ON THE HIGHWAY TO HELL

Highway 40 shut down this weekend for construction. So on this dreary Sunday Joel had the bright idea to session it. Apparently he wasn't the only one. Photos by Worful.

POSTER BOY FOR THE MIDWEST

Even if it takes wearing some winter gloves, Bob's going to get his trick. So take that Randy! Bob was so excited after he did this tall boardslide that he skated a victory lap around the country. First stop was the midwest of course, then he gave Randy and California a big fat back lip, Texas a crooked grind just for Sean, and finally some Florida flare for Schwartz with a blunt slide. SKATE CLIPS

This is Jason. For all intents and purposes he's the official stylist for Pretty. Basically he keeps us looking good "for days" as he would say. He's also probably cooler than all of us combined. So if you have a problem with any of our haircuts, you can direct it to him or just make an appointment. Thank you. (Post title courtesy of the one, the only, the Uthus.)

LADIES MAN

Is all this attention Bobby's getting on the blog going straight to his head? We'll let you decide.

NATE MENTAL

Randy's buddy Nate Broussard has reunited with fellow comic genius Michael Sieben and is riding for his new company Roger Skateboards. Cheers Nate! Photo by Mike Stanfield, post title courtesy of Bobby's hilarious brain.

THE GOOD OL' PARKING GARAGE SESSION PART 2: BOBBY'S REVENGE

So Randy thinks he's got it pretty good out in sunny California, does he? And he thinks we're pretty miserable back here in the frozen tundra that is Missouri? Well guess what Dolphin, Bobby don't play that. He don't play that at all in fact. So he assembled his crew and once again took it to the parking garage last night. Joel started things off with a kickflip over the gap. Then Goeke and Hood proceeded with some shuvits of the frontside and backside variety. Finally, Bobby shut things down with a 360 flip. You just got served Ploesser. Oh Snap! Photos by Worful.

MONKEY MURAWSKI

Hello friends, I know you all must be a little jealous that i'm out in Sunny LALA land at the moment while you freeze your pants off in the midst of another brutal Midwestern winter. I haven't posted in a while so I thought I'd give back what I can to help you through the insufferable parking garage and Ramp Riders sessions. I've been skating quite a bit with Arizona's finest technician and Pretty pal Marty Murawski out here and thought I'd let you know about his blog on the 8=D website. Marty may not be able to scrape your windshield for you or unfreeze your toes but his "monkey mondays" will undoubtably warm your heart. And while you're at it you should know Marty isn't all fun and games, check out his filmbot part and you'll see just what I mean when I say this guy means business. One of my favorite parts ever. Stay warm middle America. See you soon.

STILL A WINNER IN OUR BOOK

Drew didn't win SLAP's One in a Million, but we still think he rips. We'd love to show you some of the bangin' photos he's been getting lately, but those are slated for future publication. Here's some older stuff you may have seen, but is still worth checking out again. Keep on keepin' on, Drewser!

Be sure to check out Drew and all the other skaters in the One in a Million road trip videos that SLAP has been putting up this week on their great new site!
